GEO PLATFORM EVALUATION GUIDE
How to Evaluate a GEO Audit Platform for International B2B Websites
A useful GEO audit platform should connect evidence from public-site crawling, technical and content diagnosis, prioritized tasks, publishable assets, public-page acceptance checks, and repeat AI-answer measurement. A score alone is not a closed loop.
Start with observable crawl evidence
The platform should show which URLs were discovered, which pages were successfully fetched, and which pages failed. Each finding should retain the affected URL and the signal that produced it. This prevents an unavailable page from being mistaken for a healthy page.
Check that robots directives, canonical URLs, indexability signals, structured data, headings, internal links, evidence links, and visible answer blocks are evaluated separately.
Separate website facts from model observations
GEO analysis combines different evidence classes. Public HTML and verified first-party facts are not the same as a sampled model answer. Model, prompt, country, language, device, timestamp, citations, and failures should be stored with every AI observation.
AI visibility measurements should be described as repeated observations, not as an official ranking supplied by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or another answer engine.
Require an executable path from finding to publication
A finding becomes useful when it can create a repair task or content blueprint with a target query, intended page, missing evidence, internal-link plan, schema recommendation, owner, and acceptance criteria. Generated content should remain a reviewable draft until unsupported company claims have been verified.
For international B2B sites, the workflow should preserve target language, country, device, product terminology, and competitor context instead of mixing unrelated markets.
Verify the public result, then measure again
After publication, register the exact public URL and verify HTTP access, indexable signals, self-referencing canonical, visible content, answer-first structure, query relevance, evidence links, internal links, and JSON-LD. A public fetch is not proof of Google indexing, so Search Console URL Inspection remains a separate first-party check.
Finally, rescan the website and repeat the same fixed AI queries. Store the new findings and observations beside the baseline. Treat any improvement as a candidate attribution unless the measurement design supports a stronger causal claim.
Evaluation checklist
- URL-level crawl inventory and failure evidence
- Separate SEO, entity, evidence, performance, and AI-observation signals
- Prioritized tasks with owners and acceptance criteria
- Evidence-bound content blueprints and drafts
- Public publication verification and Google-specific checks
- Repeat scans and fixed-query AI resampling
- Exportable reports with evidence limitations
